Here’s a little detour to the past, when the story of Vidyarthi Bhavan began with Mr Venkataramana Ural opening a modest eatery to feed hungry students from the nearby colleges. That’s how the name came about (Vidyarthi means “student” in Kannada). 

Over time, this small tiffin room turned into one of the most celebrated homes of Bengaluru’s legendary masala dosa.  

Their claim to fame? Their famous Benne masala dosa. The dosa reaches its full flavour through their special cooking method, which combines red rice, urad dal and methi. The diners order Benne dosa because they want to experience the buttery scent which comes with this dish. The restaurant has maintained its food and dining atmosphere for more than 20 years. The menu remains focused. The servers display their skills by carrying multiple Vidyarthi Bhavan Benne dosas, which they balance on their arms while moving through crowded dining areas. The number of people waiting in line to eat Bengaluru’s famous masala dosa has increased to greater lengths.
